heartburn relief medicinesThe makers of the common heartburn relief medicines like Tums, Maalox, Nexium, Prilosec and Prevacid, would like you to think that heartburn (aka ‘acid indigestion’) is caused by too much stomach acid.

They tell you that because these heartburn relief medicines are made to reduce or block your stomach acid. But, that could spell DISASTER for your health.

And, it’s in fact just the opposite… heartburn is caused by too little stomach acid!

The simple truth is that plenty of gastric acid is essential for normal digestion. If there’s not enough gastric acid, then the food inside your stomach doesn’t digest all the way. Thus, the name ‘acid indigestion‘.

Then, the action of bacteria and yeast (Candida) on the undigested food in your stomach causes gas to form. Stomach pressure from the gas causes the esophageal sphincter to open.

And then some of the acidic contents of your stomach refluxes up into your esophagus, causing the burning, sour taste and in many cases some food entering your mouth.

Since the most common heartburn medicines like Nexium, Prilosec and Prevacid , stop ALL acid secretion inside your stomach, THE PROBLEM BECOMES MUCH WORSE!

In fact, recent studies have shown that these heartburn medications can CAUSE heartburn!!

And, chronic use of these heartburn medicines can result in osteoporosis, nutritional deficiencies, infection, allergies, asthma, anemia, depression, skin problems, gallbladder problems, autoimmune diseases, IBS, Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative Colitis, hepatitis, diabetes and even CANCER!

When you take these heartburn medicines you no longer have acid inside your stomach, so the burning is miraculously gone!

But, soon after you quit taking those heartburn relief medicines most of the symptoms return. And, because the problem isn’t really solved… your stomach will start to produce more acid.
